Spurring Singapore’s Digital Transformation
Smart Nation 1.0 was developed to help Singapore ride the wave of change and leverage digital technologies to transform domains like health, transport, education, finance, infrastructure, and the environment.
To increase digital adoption, strategic national projects like our digital identity system, Singpass, and e-payment networks were launched. Some of these products make daily activities more enjoyable in small but powerful ways; others provide citizens with faster, more personalised services.
Goals of Smart Nation 1.0
Digital Society
Fostering a society where Singaporeans are ready to embrace the digital world through efforts to improve digital access, digital literacy and digital adoption.
Digital Economy
Developing a vibrant digital economy and positioning Singapore as a global hub for innovation by creating new job opportunities and supporting digitalisation programmes for industries and businesses.
Digital Security
Strengthening Singapore’s cybersecurity efforts, so that the increasing number of services and transactions that take place online are secure and resilient.
Digital Government
Building a government that is digital to the core and serves with a heart, by designing services that are seamless, personalised and inclusive.
