National AI Strategy
Learn how Singapore is leveraging AI and driving its adoption.
AI for the Public Good, for Singapore and the World
Since launching the Singapore National AI Strategy (NAIS) 2.0 in December 2023, the AI landscape has evolved rapidly, and Singapore has made meaningful progress. To further boost our efforts, the National AI Council (NAIC), chaired by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, was established in February 2026 to provide strategic direction and drive Singapore’s AI agenda.
In May 2026, we released an Update to NAIS, setting out 10 refreshed priorities. These priorities build on our progress made since NAIS 2.0, incorporate what we have learned, and support the NAIC’s elevated ambitions.
As we move forward, we remain committed to our vision of AI for the Public Good, for Singapore and the World.

AI Activities Across the Ecosystem
Industry
We are driving AI adoption across businesses of all sizes, from SMEs to large enterprises. Through targeted support programmes, we have developed multiple centres of excellence that serve as innovation hubs across key industries.

Economic Strategy Review
We are currently embarking on an Economic Strategy Review so that Singapore can continue to thrive and strengthen our economic relevance amid structural shifts including geopolitical realignments and technological disruptions. The ESR will chart a forward-looking economic blueprint with clear actions to take today to secure good opportunities for our businesses and workers. The Economic Strategy Review comprises five committees, which will publish a report outlining their recommendations by mid-2026.
AI Centres of Excellence
Over 70 companies across various sectors have chosen to establish AI Centres of Excellence (COEs) in Singapore. These CoEs are dedicated teams that focus on AI development and deployment to support business goals.

Government
We are driving broad-based AI adoption across government agencies to improve operational efficiency and enhance service delivery. Ministries are actively innovating with AI solutions to better serve citizens and businesses, from streamlining processes to developing new capabilities that transform how public services are delivered.
Broad Base Adoption
To enable widespread AI use across government, we have developed tools that empower public officers to leverage AI in their daily work. Alongside these tools, we are actively improving AI literacy through training programmes and resources, ensuring public officers have both the capabilities and knowledge to use AI effectively and responsibly in service delivery.

International
Singapore works closely with a range of key bilateral partners to align on AI governance, through substantive initiatives and technical cooperation. These allow us to start small and move quickly with like-minded partners as pathfinders for broad-based multilateral cooperation.
We are also working with key jurisdictions to shape norms: with the US, we have announced collaborations in AI, including under the US-Singapore Critical and Emerging Technology Dialogue. Both countries are deepening information-sharing and consultations on international AI security, safety, trust, and standards development, while making rapid progress at the leading edge of AI.
Compute
Enterprise Compute Initiative
The $150 million initiative supports companies’ AI transformation efforts by facilitating access to cutting-edge AI tools, cloud compute, training, and engineering support from ECI cloud service partners and consultancy services.
